Byrundtur i Ho Chi Minh City

08.00 meet tour guide at your hotel lobby, begin the exploration of Ho Chi Minh City, including the Reunification Palace that was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until April 30, 1975.

Then, continuing our trip visiting War Remnants Museum that was formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes. This is a poignant display the futility of war. 

Close to the museum, we go to visit Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office that are some of the best examples of French colonial architecture. Notre Dame Cathedral was built between 1877 and 1883, and the stones used to create it were exported in its entirety from France.

Next to the cathedral stands the Central Post Office that is the country’s largest post office was built since 1891. It is another fine example of French architecture and is Vietnam’s largest post office. Have lunch in nice restaurant.

After lunch, we will visit Giac Lam Pagoda that is Saigon’s oldest and finest pagoda, dating back to 1744.

Take continuing to Cho Lon (also called Binh Tay market) that is well justified as Vietnam’s largest market. Then we visit Thien Hau temple.The tour finishes at approximately 17.00 when you will be transferred back to your hotel.

08.00 meet our guide at your hotel lobby and depart for driving through pleasant countryside before arriving at Cu Chi.

We then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels where the Vietnamese could escape bombings, hide from enemy, and mount surprise attacks.

Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. 

After lunch, we head back to Ho Chi Minh City and take a half day. We start by looking at the Notre Dame Cathedral that was built between 1877 and 1883.

This is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Nearby is the Old Post Office, which is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office. 

Then, we move on to see the Reunification Palace. This is one of the most important buildings in the city. Here on April 30th 1975 the ‘American War’ officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.

We will end the trip with the last stop at the War Remnants Museum.
